Coat: Marks & Spencer | Jumper: Miss Selfridge | Jeans: Topshop | Boots: Topshop | Sunglasses: Le Specs | Bag: Mango

Back with a new post finally, and feeling bad about the lack of consistency! But I've brought the standards up with this coat- camo & fur!! I'm probably going to be a bit here and there with blogging as I'm working long hours and only get the chance to photograph when I see Rees which isn't often enough!

I'm pretty obsessed with this coat, from M&S Limited Edition. It's a statement piece that dresses up a simple outfit and makes me feel like I'm making 100% more effort. I'm also trying a new fit of jeans, and not completely sure how to style the MOM so here's to experimenting.

Also, my first autumn boots purchase were these bow front Topshop beauties (I had to make the most of my staff discount). I bought these and the lower heel version and opted for some height BUT be warned they are not the most comfortable!

What have you been spending your dollar on this season?

Blazer: Topshop | Top: Miss Selfridge | Jeans: Marks & Spencer | Shoes: Topshop | Bag: Zara

So many favourite items in this post! I've just started working full time in London and I'm still adapting to the 'anything goes' dress code. On the one hand, I want to feel like I've made an effort... but at the same time, I want to be comfy for long and busy days. I feel like a look like this brings the two together.

A black jean is the ideal smart casual piece to make your work wardrobe work harder, and the kick flare shape update this pair from other skinnies or straight leg styles. In true M&S style, the jeans are super comfortable, a great fit (come in short length) and flattering.

The bardot is the top of the season and it's easy to see why, it accentuates the shoulders and chest without being revealing, AND this particular style from Miss Selfridge is really lightweight for the recent hot temps we've been facing in England.

My best buy of the season though, is this double breasted Topshop blazer. I have found it to be really versatile and it makes every outfit 100% more stylish. It looks expensive and is fairly affordable as blazers go and it also comes in a few other beautiful colours- I've got my eye on the petrol blue and pale pink!

And a great bargain find at Topshop Oxford Circus were these Chanel-esque block heels. They were the last pair in the sale and I couldn't leave without them. As heels go, they are really comfortable, maybe causing slight soreness towards the end of the working day- but in my books that's a winner!

What's your favourite item and have you found any great staples this Summer?

Top: ASOS | Jeans: Topshop | Bag: Cos (similar) | Shoes: Mango | Watch: Larsson & Jennings

I've just handed in my Final Major Project at Uni and have now completely finished my degree- Woohoo! I have a few weeks off and a couple of holidays planned and then I'm straight into a new job this Summer and so ready for some routine in my life. Hopefully I can give my blog a little more attention too!

As soon as I spotted this top on ASOS, it went straight into my basket. It seems like the perfect item to dress up for a night out or dress down with some jeans like I have here. And I'm all for the multitasking pieces! I practically live in these jeans after years of the Topshop joni and I am loving the more relaxed and comfy feel. I'm definitely looking for more jeans in this kick flare style if you can recommend any? But, the star of the show is these new shoes from Mango. They are almost an exact dupe of the Chloe sandals for just £24.99 and are actually really comfortable so I can see them becoming a firm fave this summer.

I'd love to hear about any summer favourites of yours!

I thought I'd put together a little Topshop wishlist as the high street brand has a 20% off student  discount offer until Thursday! I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like I've been waiting for this discount forever!! There's a lot I'm loving from the brand right now and these are just a few of my favourites. The daisy wrap dress isn't something I'd normally reach for but I feel like it's such a good match for the Realisation Par dresses and would be so cute for Summer. The sandals also look so much more expensive than they are!

What would you buy from Topshop right now?

Feeling French

Coat: Uniqlo | Blouse: H&M | Jeans: Topshop | Shoes: Topshop | Bag: Zara (similar) | Watch: Larsson & Jennings

This is probably my favourite outfit to be posted to Fashion in Excess yet! I couldn't wait to share with you some of my favourite new buys this month, with some bolder picks than I would typically go for. I, like many, was quite unsure of the glove shoe when it first began appearing on my Instagram feed and knew the trend would be a grower on me. And who better to provide the ultimate glove shoe than Topshop? I was completely taken by both the grey and red but though the red would liven up my (often) drab outfits and encourage me to be a bit more adventurous in my styling. The perfect shoes needed the perfect trouser and the Topshop Dree jeans create a subtle kick flare that fitted my petite frame perfectly and flashed just the right amount of ankle! To compliment the red shoes, I felt a blue or white blouse would make a great simple combination and having seen this H&M ruffle blouse advertised everywhere I ordered it as soon as it appeared in New In and fell in love instantly. Something about the frills makes me feel like I can do Parisienne Chic without reverting to the obvious breton stripe tee, although I'm not sure everyone is on board with the slightly child like ruffles. Finished off with a cosy coat and minimal handbag and you've got the dream combination.

Are you buying into the ruffles trend?

The brogue

Scarf: Zara | Jacket: Mango | Top: Miss Selfridge | Jeans: ASOS | Shoes: Office (similar) | Bag: Mango

We literally shot this post as it started raining so it was a bit rushed and a bit blurry but I still wanted to share! I'm keeping it fairly neutral in greys/camels/blacks and playing with texture and pattern. Combining a ribbed lace up top with a houndstooth blazer and felted wool scarf  maintained a bit of interest without being too out there. The girlfriend jean and brogue combo is a fave of mine since I feel skinny jeans just don't work with chunky shoes on me (#bigfoot) and it emphasises the sexy ankle...

What do you love to wear your brogues with?
