OOTD: Mother's Day

Top: Miss Selfridge | Skirt: Topshop | Clutch: Dorothy Perkins | Shoes: ASOS | Watch: Olivia Burton

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed treating your mums for Mother's Day. This is my first outfit post and I'm a complete newbie to it so excuse the poor quality of the photos and poses… I'll try to get better! Also, sorry for the pasty legs and squinting, next time I'll slap on a bit of instant tan and won't look into the Sun.

So, this is my Mother's Day outfit. I kept it simple and made the most of the Sun's warmth and went bare legged in this white Topshop skirt. I did buy it last Summer so it isn't still on the website but there are plenty of white skirts around and they instantly brighten up an outfit.

I bought this top for £15 in the Miss Selfridge sale but it seems to have sold out on the website, probably because it's such a flattering piece. It brings together a floral and checked print along with neon colours and monochrome and the fit is perfect. The shoulders are slightly gathered and there is a peplum waist so it gives the illusion of an hourglass figure, which I certainly won't turn down. It is fairly smart, but paired with some jeans can easily be a casual day time top.

You might recognise the sandals from my earlier sandal wish list as I just couldn't resist buying them. ASOS kindly sent me an earlybird 30% off code before their sale began so I managed to pick these up for just £21, which is a bargain. Their colour is the perfect pink, and I fell in love as soon as I saw them and just know I'll wear them so much throughout Spring and Summer. They look just as great with jeans or cigarette trousers and they are so comfortable too, which is a bonus.

I paired this outfit with minimal accessories, a plain grey clutch from Dorothy Perkins and my Olivia Burton watch. I never used to wear a watch but having seen the beautiful designs of Olivia Burton watches I decided I couldn't not buy one last September and treated myself. It has a real leather strap, and mine is cream so gets dirty easily. But, this is its only flaw. The bird design is so pretty and I wear the watch every day now as it goes with everything. I'd definitely recommend checking out their watches as they really are good quality and look lovely!

And that's the end of my first outfit post, I'll try to post more soon!

What did you wear for Mother's Day and have you found any bargains in the Spring sales?
